SCADA Systems Training
Who should attend?

This course is intended for Instrumentation, and Process Controls Engineers and Highly Qualified Technicians. Also those who have direct responsibility for or require a working knowledge of SCADA/PLC's will benefit from the most up‐to‐date developments in Modern Process Control.

Programme Overview

This is a five-day course designed to give participants an understanding of SCADA systems and their application used extensively within the Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Power Generation and other Process Industries. The course also will cover in details the most famous field buses (PROFIBUS and Foundation Fieldbus) and the definition of different known control systems (e.g. DCS, PLC, HMI, PAS, SAS, etc.).

In addition, a detailed discussion of some of the SCADA related standards (IEEE C37.1 and API 1164) are included to provide participants with a vision for the applicable standard in the field of Supervisory Control. Attendees will learn about the applicable engineering documents and diagrams, the main system components, the engineering parameters such as Temperature, Pressure, Flow and Level Measurement, Typical SCADA System arrangements, schematic drawings, system interfacing, Power Supply requirements, Design Techniques, SCADA/PLC programming, review of typical packages, installation inspections, testing, commissioning.

On completion of this course, students will be able to participate in and understand the design of SCADA system installations.

Objectives

Upon completion of this Workshop, the trainees will be aware and understanding of the following:

  • Ensure that all participants have a familiarity with the relevant codes and standards.
  • Have a basic knowledge of the content of the standards as well as the background to this subject.
  • Gain an understanding of every aspect of what makes a SCADA/PLC system work. They should come away with the knowledge to troubleshoot a program and maintain the control system.
  • Network Fundamentals (CCNA)
  • Understanding CCNP ENCOR
  • Understanding CCNP ENARSI
